BJP's development plan draws flak in Jammu | | | Raj Sandeep
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 1: Much fanfare of development agenda launched by Union government led by BJP for J&K is turning out to be a flop show with people yearning for redressal of their day to day problems. Taking a dig on two year celebrations being observed by BJP government at the centre with its local BJP in state govt having shown dismal performance, Kishore Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch of Panchyat Maralia said that it will be nothing short of befooling people to make noise on the plank of development of the State as if earlier governments have done nothing for development in the state. Saying that doing development is the job of any government and it is not surprising if the BJP government is doing the same. Rather development slogan is just a political gimmickry and an act of securing political gains unless and until the masses at large do not get the basic amenities of life like ration, drinking water, power without much ado. Talking about the Public Distribution System of the State, Subash Dogra criticized CAPD for depriving the people of sugar for the last four months and other ration articles. He said that National Food Security Act launched by state government has multiplied the problems of people manifold instead of being a people-friendly Act, adding that about 80 % people have been dumped in the exclusive category not entitled for ration making a mockery of the Act. No parameters have been kept in mind to categorize people falling in priority house hold, non-priority house hold and the last category is exclusive, where families having annual income of 25 lacs have been included, an official of CAPD told on condition of anonymity . Rattan Lal of R. S. Pura told that the people belonging to lower strata of society like pheriwalas, rehriwalas, landless auto drivers and many other such like people have been included in exclusive category which has landed the people in great chaos and confusion making them to suffer for want of ration. Is it called development which the BJP is talking about, he taunted, saying that if ration/sugar is not supplied to entitled beneficiaries what is the fate of food security allowance being not provided to rationees which is just a joke with the people of Jammu who voted with full faith enabling BJP to win 25 assembly seats and two MP seats. Castigating the BJP for deviating from its announcement of re-shaping totally devastated Saddal as a model village falling in Udhampur distt, Krishna Lal of the area said that neatly two years have passed, nothing has been done to rebuild Saddal as model village in hilly area promised by BJP which caved in due to landslides in 2014. Ashok Kumar of border village of Treva told that people do not require hollow announcements of BJP made in the name of development to gullible people and assailed BJP for its failure to provide five marlas plots at safer place to villagers living under shadow of cross border firings often fleeing from their house to safer place of their own without proper arrangements of government. Talking about development agenda of BJP , a social worker Jasbir Singh said that in order to topple Mahtama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) scheme launched be previous government which was people-friendly , BJP govt has imposed 50% cut in allocation of funds and called this scheme by BJP as "Khadee Bharne Bali Scheme nehe chelege" Saying that MNERGA scheme has direct bearing on employment and earning livelihood by rural population as also development in villages with aim to create durable assets such as roads, canals, ponds, wells, lane drains etc, an unemployed educated youth, Ram Saran assailed such a negative mindset of BJP to scuttle grass root level development in rural areas, adding that it is just a ploy engineered on the name of development stunt being promoted through the mechanism of massive advertisement for keeping the masses mesmerized till BJP finishes its inning of remaining three years in government, he rued. Flaying the pick and choose tendency of local BJP MLA , Mandev Singh of R. S. Pura said that there is no uniform development plan conceived by representative of the public to ensure equal development of his constituency with Bishan Lal Bhagat , Village Pradhan of Nandpur cursed for voting local BJP candidate and alleged that Nandpur and its adjoining villages Makhanpur, Sujatpur, Maria, Malakpur etc are mostly inhabited by scheduled caste population, but the road passing through these villages is in a most dilapidated condition which has not been repaired since 1965 and said, that for these villagers, development of BJP is meaningless till their road connectivity is maintained, bemoaned. The sources told that in which direction of development the BJP is trying to thrust people as no development is genuinely possible with people in Jammu areas are suffering badly from acute paucity of potable water, power, majority of Panchayats functioning from rented buildings, one Gram Sevak looking after 4 to 5 panchayats who being backbone of rural development is burdened heavily and cannot do justice with his work, zero subsidy to farmers to get implements, spray pumps, no seed facility etc. They further added that unless the system is set right and the mindset of politicians and implementing agencies is changed, no plausible development is genuinely possible in the state, especially of Jammu where BJP leaders are totally inaccessible and if at all they come in the public darbar to meet general public, they allow only government machinery and their workers to steal the show with general people looked down upon as it happened in recent public darbar held at Dak Banglow Maralia turned into political rally of BJP workers and suppressed the voice of people to raise issues of public importance in public darbar by the people the area which is a BJP dominated and the people openly voted for BJP. |
