Sunderbani, June 1: In yet another instance of power intoxicating the politicians, the BJP MLA from Nowshera constituency Ravinder Raina has allegedly made the life of a poor family hell as it resisted the moves of his men to encroach their land.
A poor family of village Nohoti in Sunderbani is allegedly on the radar of the BJP MLA and he is using all his power to ensure that their bread and butter of the family is snatched for not following his diktats.
The BJP MLA, who claims to be uncrowned king of the area, has taken a strong note of his writ being challenged a poor dailywager and his wife, an Anganwadi worker.
Sources said that BJP MLA has asked the top officials to disengage the daily wager and his wife forthwith so that no one dares to challenge the writ of his men in his constituency.
Sources said that poor family had already given a part of their land to the BJP MLA's aide. But the aide insisted that he needs more land. This infuriated the poor family and they refused to budge. Following which the goons of the MLA took the cognizance of the matter and started harassing the family.
" I was followed by a gun wielding goons of the MLA. It seems they wanted to eliminate me. I however gave them a slip and saved my life," the victim, who wished anonymity, fearing reprisal, told Early Times.
The daily wager, who have been serving in the department for the past two and a half years, alleged: " Me and my family were threatened by the MLA and his goons. We were told that if we don't give in we would be shot dead and no power on earth can save our lives."
He said that as he and his family clout has a good number of votes to their credit the MLA wants to establish his writ so that he coerces us to vote for him.
It's in place to mention here that already the Early Times has carried an unending list of stories against the Nowshera MLA, who enjoys a good rapport with the state ministers and has strong links with Rashtriya Swayem Sevak Sangh.
The MLA recently convened a meeting at Rajouri guest house where he asked his workers/activists to find 'some fault' with the working of the vicitm and his so that both of them can deprived of their jobs.
"I fear for my life as well as the life of my wife also. As the goons of the MLA are threatening us every day. I have no other option but to approach the media so that my case could be highlighted," said the poor victim.
The family has threatened to commit mass suicide if the MLA doesn't stop harassing them. |
