| Encroachment of Doda hospital: Govt gives contradictory replies | | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Srinagar, June 1: The government of Jammu and Kashmir today faced embarrassment in the Legislative Assembly over contradictory replies by two different departments with regard to total number of land available with District Hospital Doda and the land encroached there off.
Revenue Minister Basharat Ahmed Bukhari while accepting the mistake on the floor of the house directed Deputy Commissioner Doda to remove the encroachment on the land of District Hospital Doda and set 24 hours deadline for him to act against the encroachers or face disciplinary action.
As soon as the question hour concluded, BJP MLA from Doda Shakti Raj Parihar stood on his feet's and demanded clearance from the government over the two different answers received by him in two different questions of similar nature. On this speaker JK Assembly Kavinder Gupta directed the government to clarify its position with regard to total number of land acquired for construction of District Hospital Doda as well as for Doda Sports Stadium.
As per the details available with "Early Times", in response to A.Q No. 410 of MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar listed on 31-05-2016, Deputy Secretary to Government Revenue Department stated that 44 Kanal and 02 Marla Land has been acquired for Sports Stadium Doda while 54 Kanal 9 ½ Kanal land has been acquired for the District Hospital Doda added that the land is presently being used by the concern authorities and rule out any encroachment of the said land.
Not satisfied with the government reply, the MLA informed the revenue Minister that the land has been encroached by the encroachers at both places and termed the government reply as not satisfactory and demanded verification of his allegations on ground by making the measurement of the both lands.
Proving his point today, MLA Doda informed the house that in response to his A.Q.No 408 listed for today, assistant Director (Planning), Health and Medical Education Department in response to details seek by the MLA Doda with regard to total land acquired for the construction of District Hospital Doda with the physical status of the same and steps initiated to retrieve and encroached portion of the land, the government reply stated that 84.07 Kanals of land has been acquired for construction of new complex of District Hospital Doda added that reportedly some land has been encroached upon and to retrieve the encroached land, latest demarcation has been carried on 18-02-2016 by the revenue authorities and installed the peg points. The reply of Health Department was contrary to the reply of Revenue Department where in Revenue Department stated that only 40.02 Kanals of land is in possession of District Hospital Doda.
While talking to "Early Times" MLA Doda said that he is hopeful that encroachment in and around Doda Hospital will get removed as per the directions of the Revenue Minister and said that in case of non compliance, he will continue to raise this issue till desired result could be achieved. He said that similarly encroachment of Doda Sports Stadium will too be removed in shortest possible time. |
