JAMMU, June 1: A political activist has lodged a complaint with Budhal police station, alleging therein that he was manhandled by the naib-tehsildar. In his complaint, Waqar Lone, son of Bashir Ahmad of Budhal, stated that he had given a room on rent in his house to Fazal-ur-Rehman, patwari halqa Rajnagar, Budhal. Searching for him, naib-tehsildar Khursheed Ahmad Tantray came to his house and started making searches in the whole house, police sources said. "When I resisted on the plea that other families also live in the building and their searches will not have a good impact on them, the naib-tehsildar manhandled me in the presence of several people, besides insulting me," Waqar alleged in his complaint. He alleged that the naib-tehsildar also thrashed his family members and other tenants, and threatened him of dire consequences. Waqar has urged the SHO of Budhal police station to lodge an FIR against the naib-tehsildar under sections 503, 441 of 351 of RPC.
