Srinagar, June 1: There are 1825 posts of teachers vacant in Jammu division which include 244 posts identified under direct quota. In response to question of a Congress MLC that how many posts o teachers are lying vacant in the Jammu, government reply stated that 1581 posts of teachers are lying vacant in Education Department and as per government reply Kathua District tops the list with 406 posts of teachers lying vacant in 13 education zones of the District and areas like Basoli (95), Malhar (80), Bhaddu (80) and Mahanpur (78) are the worst effected zones of Kathua District in terms of vacant posts of teachers in government schools. Rajouri District has 290 posts of teachers vacant which include Kalakot (78), Moghla (58), Khawas (47), Darhal (47), Nowshera (42) are the worst affected zones of the Rajouri District followed by Udhampur District where 268 posts of teachers are lying vacant. In Udhampur education zone Panchari (84), Chanani (49), Ramnagar (37) are the worst education zones in terms o vacant posts. Samba District with 232 posts which falls in education zone of Ghagwal (123), Samba (43) and Ramgard (39) zones. Poonch District had 86 vacant posts, Reasi 72 vacant posts and in Kishtwar only four posts of teachers that too in Warwan education zone are lying vacant. While Jammu, Ramban and Doda Districts has no vacant posts of teachers. Similarly in addition to 1581 vacant posts, in Jammu Division 244 posts of teachers with respect to direct quota are being referred to SSB for fast track recruitment while the state reply stated that promotion quota will be filled up through DPC's. The government also stated that schools upgraded by virtue of order No. 737-Edu of 2014 dated 22-10-2014 in which 27 Middle Schools and 16 High Schools were upgraded to next higher level in District Doda has not come into operation as the order was issued in disregard to the conditional approval of the cabinet, beside number of factual inaccuracies and infirmities have been noticed in the said order added that the entire issue is being examined in respect of the feasibility viz -a-viz enrolment, distance and infrastructure available. |
