Centre, JK Govt should clear stand on KP's return: NC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 1: The National Conference today asked the Central and State governments to clear their stand for the return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley and called for a concrete, time-bound rehabilitation and return plan. "Both the central and state government should form concrete time bound and actionable return and rehabilitation plan of KPs by consulting true and real representatives of the displaced peoples," M K Yogi, president of NC Minority Cell, said. A meeting of the Minority Cell was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu here under the leadership of former MLC and former Chief Secretary of J&K Vijay Bakaya, who is Political Advisory to NC Patron President, Farooq Abdullah. "Both the governments should clear their stand on mode and modal of return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants in the valley. They should speed up this process as it has been 26 years of exile for KPs," NC leader said. He said that the government should take confidence building measures including implementation of PM's employment package, construction of more transit accommodations for employees and displaced Pandits. He said that the Centre and the state government had discussed the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits but the representatives of the community were not taken into confidence. NC called for time-bound implementation of the PM employment package and claimed that only 1600 youths have got jobs. |
