PWD fails to maintain Jmu-Rajouri-Poonch road | | | Early Times Report POONCH, June 1: Within tall claims by the ministers to create better road connectivity within state to usher an era of development, the Public Work Department (PWD) Poonch has turned to be failure to provide basic facilities to the people of Nariyan situated on Jammu Rajouri Poonch Road passing through rajouri district. According to the sources the construction work of Jammu Poonch Highway, the road stretch between Rajouri to Nowshera although was started yet has not been completed and this has caused inconvenience to the people of Nariyan-Nowshera. A physically handicapped social activist Sonu Sharma said whenever he visits the people of village apprise him with their issues and highlight the main issue of poor connectivity to the area which is resulting major problems to old, sick and pregnant women of the area. Sharma said locals alleged PWD apparently has failed to provide basic facility i.e. the road connectivity to people of said village. Meanwhile people of Nariyan alleged despite repeated requests the concerned authorities have yet not taken any initiative in this regard. Social activist Mr Sharma and village representatives have appealed District Development Commissioner Poonch Mohd Shabir Amhed Bhutt to direct concerned department to take due action and create better connectivity to the poor masses of society. |
