Vijaypur, Nov 12: An eight-year-old girl was crushed to death after she was run over by a truck at Jakh, here last night.
The victim has been identified as Lakshmi Sharma (8), daughter of Bharat Rattan, resident of Jakh village in Samba district.
According to police spokesperson, the accident occurred when the girl was crossing the road with her grandmother and crushed by a speeding truck. The girl was rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital, Jammu, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, the truck driver fled the scene leaving his truck behind. The police have registered a case under the relevant sections and the vehicle had been impounded. |
