RSS happy with the BJP's performance in J&K
Digging its own grave

Early Times Report
jammu, Nov 12: Reports appeared at regular intervals suggesting that the Jammu-based RSS leadership was not happy with the functioning of the BJP Ministers in the PDP-led Kashmir-centric coalition Government. Reports suggested that "Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and a couple of other BJP Ministers had disappointed the RSS leadership owing to their failure to deliver" and that "they could be thrown out" of the Government and other "competent" BJP MLAs will be inducted in the Government.
That these reports were not really authentic and that the RSS, in fact, was very much impressed with the working of the BJP Ministers became clear the other day. Two senior RSS functionaries came out in support of the PDP-BJP coalition Government and the BJP Ministers. This, notwithstanding the fact that the situation in the State had deteriorated, as also despite the fact that the general view in Jammu province was that the "BJP had utterly failed to perform and deliver and that the people by and large had developed hatred against the party and its leadership and BJP Ministers".
The two senior RSS functionaries were Pranatiya Sangh Chalak Brig Suchet Singh, and Deedichi, who is the pointman between the BJP and the RSS. Brig Singh not only defended the BJP and the coalition Government but also urged the people to give some more time to the BJP so that it could come up to their expectations. It was perhaps for the time that two senior RSS leaders interacted with media persons in Jammu to extend the RSS' full support to a parry that had "disappointed" everyone in the region.
The manner in which these RSS functionaries sided with the PDP-BJP coalition Government and the BJP Ministers vindicated those who held the view that "the RSS and the BJP were two sides of the same coin" and that "both bartered the interests of the nationalists in Jammu province for some bigger' purpose".
It's not the RSS the people used to appreciate. It is a different type of RSS, which brazenly indulges in politics, plays power games and enjoys power sans accountability and responsibility. By extending its unstinted support to the PDP-BJP coalition Government and the fallen-from-the-grace BJP Ministers, the RSS is simply digging its own grave in the State.
