Early Times Report
jammu, Nov 12: Health Department has left no stone unturned to adjust blue eyed doctors of Minister concerned at choice postings by not filling the vacant posts of doctors since long time in District Hospital Kathua.
Source in department said that three posts of surgeons are sanctioned in District Hospital Kathua, but only a single surgeon, Dr Rakesh Gupta is manning the surgery department and as a result DH is becoming merely a referral centre to refer patients to Government Medical College & Hospital Jammu.
"The reason behind not filling the vacant posts is that the Minister concerned has directed the department to oblige his blue eyed doctors either by providing them plum posting or attaching them against permanent posts", he further said.
It is pertinent to mention here that most of the departments in the district hospital are facing same problem. "Against four posts of Gynecologists, only two gynecologists are available, in which one gynecologist is attached against the permanent post since long time", he said.
Besides, presently two physicians are posted in the district hospital against three posts, in which one is permanent post and other is also attachment. "In ENT department only two surgeons are available against three sanctioned posts while in anesthesia department against the three posts only one specialist is available, making mockery of tall claims made by the Health Minister", he said.
