Dilapidated, incomplete PMGSY roads irk locals 11/13/2015 12:16:18 AM Ashwani Sharma Early times report Udhampur, Nov 12: The work on road connecting Sunari with Kasnareh in Udhampur started under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has failed to complete in scheduled time due to poor tendering. But in documents, the work has been completed and even the payment has been made to the contractor. Ram Lal—a local said that the work on said road was started in the year 2013. The villagers many times visited the office of PMGSY with the problems due to dilapidated road and demanded its repair but The villagers informed that the concerned department seems to be in deep slumber and has till date failed to solve the problems of the locals. Locals told that it becomes difficult for them to walk on the road especially during the rainy season as mud and dirty waters spreads everywhere. They complained that their children cannot go to school as they have to cross the same road which is rendered dangerous during rainy season. These people said that if the road is not repaired soon then they will be left with no option but to start an agitation against the authorities concerned.
