Bombshell for police: Burglars target MLA's house, decamp with house hold items | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 12: In a shocker to Jammu police which already seems to have utterly failed to curb the growing thefts in Jammu district, the burglars today targeted first timer PDP MLA from Dooru Assembly segment Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi who is closely related to Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed. The news of 'sensational robbery' at Flat no 28/C Gandhinagar took every one in the area by surprise as no one noticed any one walking away with truck load of items from inside a government accommodation while the MLA was thunderstruck on Thursday after his house located in a highly secured zone was robbed of all its basic fixtures and furnishings including LED, refrigerator and etc. According to official sources on Thursday morning when the house was opened after recent Durbar Move and the care takers attached with MLA Dooru were shocked to notice a major robbery as they found almost all the items including the water taps missing from the government accommodation. "Following this they immediately reported the matter to police on behalf of MLA Dooru and later the estates department official were also intimated about the robbery, sources said. Though, police sources claimed to have activated nakas besides lifting of suspects to douse the simmering anger brewing among the residents of locality and the victims of thefts, but all this is in vain till late evening. A senior Police officer on promised anonymity briefly said that a case under FIR no 282/15 u/s 380 of RPC stands registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar. "Some suspects have been rounded up to get a lead, he said adding, "however no arrest yet has been made till last reports came in." |
