Jammu/Kathua/Katra Nov 12: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association celebrated Vishwakarma Day" under the leadership of Provincial President, Shiv Kumar Sharma, at Kunjwani workshop of PHE Ground Water and Drilling division Jammu.
On the occasion PHE Department staff performed Pooja and Havan and the floral wreaths were also offered to Bhagvan Vishwakarma. After performing pooja Chief Guest threw light on the Bhagvan Vishwakarma's life and urged to follow the path shown by him. Superintending Engineer, F A Chaudhary was also present on the occasion.
While addressing the staff member provincial president Shiv Kumar Sharma maintained that the working classes are back-bone of the country. This class contributes mainly to the development and progress of any society in the world, but it is amazing that this vital component of the society has to struggle hard for its rights in our state.
He also show their resentment over the various issues and said that the wages of daily wagers, CP workers were pending in the department from last 24 to 30 months.
He also highlighted the demands and problems of PHE employees and workers such as regularization of daily wagers, CP workers, and enhancement of minimum wages limit to RS 350 per day and to provide tool, kits & uniform to field staff.
While Concluding the function Sharma appealed to the workers and employees to be honest towards their duties and thanked all the invitees on behalf of his colleagues & workers.
Meanwhile State unit of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) J&K celebrated Vishwakarma Day at Satwari. On the occasion State president Shiv kumar Sharma, Gen Secy Raghubir singh, Amrik singh, Joginder Paul, Ganesh Dutt, Sham Prashad, Kuldeep Raj, Vinod Kumar, Ashok Kumar and other INTUC workers from private as well as public sectors performed Pooja of Lord Vishwakarma with devotion.
After performing pooja Shiv kumar sharrna highlighted the philosophy of Lord Vishawakarma ji. On the occasion Sharma appealed to the working community to improve their skills. Sharma also appealed the Govt to redress the demands and problems of the working class such as redressal of demands of Rehbar-e-Taleem, Rehbar-e-zirat, Rehbar-e- sehat . Release of seventh Pay Commission recommendations as the lacs of Govt. employees and pensioners have lots of expectations from the Govt.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today celebrated Vishwakarma divas as Sankalap Divas with enthusiasm and fervor.
In this connection a function was organized under the chairmanship of B.S. Jamwal a prominent social activist here. On the occasion workers paid obeisance to Lord Vishwakarma and offered Pooja to him.
Among those who were present on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Harbans Lal, Surinder Kumar, Sham Lal Sharma, Bhupinder Singh and Ashok Kumar etc.
Vishwakarma Day also known as Vishwakarma Jayanti, a day of celebration for Vishwakarma, a Hindu god, the divine architect celebrated with zest and religious fervor at Kathua wherein a religious procession was also organized.
Rajeev Jasrotia MLA Kahtua was chief guest on the occasion. Thousands hailing from different communities thronged on the occasion.
While addressing to devotees, MLA Katua Rajeev Jasrotia said few know that Vishwakarma is one of the fourteen precious things born of the Samudra manthan who found the holy city of Dwarka where Krishna ruled, the Maya Sabha of the Pandavas.
MLA said Vishwakarma was architect who created many fabulous weapons for the gods who is also called the divine carpenter, is mentioned in the Rig Veda, and is credited with Sthapatya Veda, the science of mechanics and architecture. MLA extended greetings to all and suggested to follow the innovative attitude of Lord Vishwakarma for the development of the country. It is relevant to mention here that Special statues and pictures of Vishwakarma are normally installed in every workplace and factory. All workers gather in one common place and perform the puja (reverence). Vishwakarma puja is also celebrated a day after Diwali.
Meanwhile Labour Union of Katra today celebrated Vishkarma day at holy town katra with gaiety and fervor. All the members of the union participated in the celebration with great zeal. A rally of lord Vishkarma was also taken out where in a member of the union was dressed up in shape of Lord Vishkarma. The members of the labour union offered garland to the lord and distributed sweets among the other members as well as the person witnessing the rally.
