Jammu, Dec 16: Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-J celebrated the Faculty Day-cum-Alumni Meet on its foundation day. On this occasion Prof. Pardeep K Sharma, Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-J was Chief Guest. Prof. AR Nazki, Former Dean & Registrar and Prof. Abdul Rashid, Former Associate Dean and DRI were Guest of honour.
Prof. MMS Zama, Dean of the Faculty briefed overview of the Faculty and appreciated the contributions of former Dean's and Associate Dean's towards the overall development of the Faculty. He further said that the veterinary graduates who passed out from this campus are placed at various outstanding positions in India and abroad.
He congratulated the faculty and alumni on this day and advised that such events should be held on regular basis. He further stressed that we should work with more dedication and determination for the betterment of the farming community. Prof. MS Bhdawal presented the status report of the Faculty. Prof. AR Nazki and Prof. Abdul Rashid shared their memories with the alumni and urged them to serve the nation with utmost sincerity and dedication and inculcate human values.
On this occasion prizes were given to the students who secured Ist, Second and third positions in cultural activities held during the year. A new body of the alumni was also constituted and Dr. Shahid Iqbal, (Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur) was chosen as its President, Dr. Peerzada Farhat, as Vice-President, Dr. SA Khandi, as General Secretary, Dr. Mandeep Singh Azad, as Publicity Secretary, Dr. Lokesh Gupta, as treasurer
Besides four executive members, Dr Vikrant Hansa, Dr Stanzin Dorjey, Dr Aleesha Luthra and Dr. Vikram Singh Slathia. All the statutory officers of the University were also present on this occasion along with the faculty and students. |
