Jammu, Dec 16: Majority of the district police chiefs across the State are a harassed lot now-a-days. While they prepare for the transfers of SHOs and police post heads in their districts, seniors change the lists.
In the changed lists, the seniors include the names of their favourite Inspectors and SIs, directing the district SPs to post them at the police stations and police posts mentioned against their names.
Sources said while it was the job of SSPs to run the districts, seniors were harassing them by interfering in their working. "If the district SPs ever try to go against the wishes of their seniors, the latter don't let them work and also start finding out faults in their working," the sources added.
Most of the district SPs were unhappy by the unwarranted interference of seniors in their working. "How can they take work from the SHOs and SIs, who directly report to their seniors?" sources asked. |
