12/16/2015 11:48:06 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 16: The recent transfers of Probationer Sub-Inspector (PSI) rank officials have left many within the Khaki brewing resentment as a blue eyed PSI has been again posted as in-charge police post and that too just 500 meters away from his residence.
As per high placed sources within Police Department, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu recently had shuffled thirteen in-charge police posts and most of the PSIs were shifted to District Police Lines (DPL) and confirmed Sub-Inspectors were posted as in-charge police posts.
"However, one of the influential and super powerful PSI forced the senior officers to post him as in-charge police post in one of the police post near his residence, sources added.
If sources are to be believed, senior officers initially had denied to post him as in-charge police post keeping in view the resentment brewing among other contemporary ranks including senior sub-Inspectors who were in District Police Lines (DPL) or attached with police stations. "But the influential PSI used all his resources managed the pressure mounted upon his senior and the blue eyed PSI who was transferred from one of the police post of Jammu city was posted just 500 meters away from his residence, they added.
A police official on promised anonymity alleged that they too are in a fix when pressure is mounted upon them from various spheres including the political sphere. "This not only hampers the smooth functioning of organization but also discourages the dedicated rank and file", he added.
Sources added that committed police officials either are suffocating in the headquarters or left in queues in district police lines (DPL) only while influential are making their ways at their whims.
A senior police officer confirmed that department is being run by whims and fancies of the ministers to which many top police officials are extending the puppetry services to them.
