12/16/2015 11:04:00 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 16: The alleged nexus between police and land grabbers has proved beneficial for a post man who has turned millionaire in a short span of time. The post man's role in selling the government land came to fore during the secret investigation of police.
Informed sources said that, investigation in this connection was started after the recent visit of the revenue minister in Sunjwan and Chowadi area where minister realized that the large chunk of the government land was encroached upon.
Sources further said that the post man, who is a daily wage employee of Post Office, developed links with the police officers and later became their conduit for free flow of money from property dealers.
Since this post man has been serving in the Chowadi, Uppar Choudi and Sainik Colony areas for the last seven years, he had enough information about the government land. The property dealers usually took him in their luxurious cars and gave them money to be floated to police officers to restrict them to interfere on the construction of government land. By resorting to such practice, this post man managed number of plots in the city outskirts and is alleged to have raised number of houses. It was recently, based on the specific information, a PSI who allegedly is hand in glove with his post man was shunted out from the Police Post situated in city outskirts.
