JYF stages protest against JU VC for breach of trust, demands dismissal

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 16: Protest demonstration was launched today against Prof. R D Sharma VC Jammu University by Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) and they lashed him for misusing his official position and showing affront to the chair of VC by manipulating cancellation of selection process for the post of ARs consequent upon his daughter not falling in the list of shortlisted candidates.
While addressing large gathering, President JYF Mohammad Akram Ahmed said that eversince his posting as VC of JU he has been committing wrongs over small but important cases pertaining to the interest of students and staff considering the university as his personal fiefdom.
Assailing VC for stooping very low to ensure his daughter (Shitanshu Sharma) adjusted on the post of Assistant Registrar, he forgot that besides being a father of daughter he is first VC of University loaded with onerous responsibility towards his legitimate duties for which he is posted by the Govt reposing full trust in him to do justice while performing his duties, he stated.
He alleged that but when he took over last year he deliberately delayed the selection process and was looking for excuse to abandon the selection process so that the same could be started afresh and her daughter is adjusted easily. But oblivious of his basic responsibility and at his intance Prof. R D Sharma got a committee framed of his sycophants by shifting his responsibility and got the selection process for the post of ARs recomended for cancellation as his daughter failed to make herself in the list of shortlisted candidates which is a matter of great shame and dent on the sagging image of JU. Referring to the appeal issued by Registrar JU in a section of newspaper published today seeking cooperation, he rebuffed the Registrar saying that it is not the appeal but the constructive ground work which matters as hypocrisy has no place while running the administration and in the administrative matters. "When university Authority itself violates its own rules and regulations for achieving personal agenda which transparency is being talked about in the appeal, he castigated.
