Jammu, Dec 16: J&K Branch of NIRC of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized a seminar on latest Judicial pronouncements notices and summons under the Income Tax law & burden of proof. Principal Commissioner of Income Tax , J&K, Sangeeta Gupta was the Chief Guest while R N Sahay, Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), J&K was the guest of Honor on the occasion and CA Kapil Goel, from Delhi was the guest speaker. Special invitees Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K Sangeeta Gupta and R.N Sahay , Commissioner (Appeals) J&K in their address highlighted the crucial role of chartered accountants in bridging the gap between assesses & department. Sangeeta Gupta also apprised the members about various initiatives taken by the department to steam line its functioning. Earlier in the first Technical Session, CA Kapil Goel, deliberated at length about the latest judicial pronouncements pertaining to the Income Tax Act and also highlighted the recent measures of Income tax department for reducing litigation by revision of monetary limits of filing appeals by the income tax department before Income Tax appellate Tribunal & High Courts & SLP's before Supreme Court. Chairman J&K Branch of ICAI, CA Anil Sharma presented welcome address and CA Vikram Garg (Ex. Chairman) presented vote of thanks. CA Shalay Razdan, Secretary J&K Branch of ICAI, conducted the proceedings of the seminar and CA Deepak Kapahi , Vice-Chairman introduced the dignitaries. R K Gubgotra, Dy Commissioner IT along with other officers of Income Tax Department & large number of Chartered Accountants were also present on the occasion. |
