DIG deliberates over law and order situation with prominent citizens

kishtwar, Dec 16: In the back drop of two back to back attempts to destabilize peace and tranquility in Kishtwar District, Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range Nisar Ahmed today held a meeting with prominent citizens and political leaders at new DC Office complex Kishtwar and apprised them about the progress of ongoing investigation into Mughal Maidan fire incident in which two houses and the temple was gutted in a mysterious fire incident took place on Tuesday triggering protest in different parts of Kishtwar District.
DIG Nisar Ahmed said that after the incident Special Investigation Team head by Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom, Senior Prosecuting Officer Mansoor Ahmed and SHO Chatroo Ravi Kumar has been constituted to probe the incident and assured that soon the culprits if any found involved will be brought to justice.
The speakers while condemning both the incidents demanded stern action against those elements who are giving bad name to Kishtwar and termed both the incidents as planned conspiracy as such incidents took place in Kishtwar District as and when elections are nearer. They also condemn the provocative speeches today made by some people with an aim to create wedge within the two communities and demanded FIR against such persons who are indulging in such things.
Reacting to the demands of speakers, DIG Nissar Ahmed assured them that the issues raised by them will be looked into on top priority. He added that he will take up the matter with DGP K Rajindra Kumar personally with regard to sanctioning of special funds for Kishtwar District for installation of CCTV cameras at vulnerable places.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting include Shabir Ahmed Kamal, Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain, Umar Malik, Wasil Doolwal, Bidya Lal, Arjun Rana, Farooq Ahmed Dev, Ajay Shan, Balbir Singh, Touseef Iqbal, Abdul Salam Butt, Zulfkar Ali and others.
