Jammu, Dec 16: General-Officer-Commanding, White Knight Corps Lt Gen R R Nimbhorkar today said there is no change in the situation on the Line of Control despite an initiative of talks between India and Pakistan. "Infiltration bids along the LoC are yet on, although India and Pakistan have decided to initiate talks," Gen Nimbhorkar told reporters at the sidelines of a function at Nagrota on city outskirts here. The GoC said that despite the two sides being engaged in talks, the ground realities along Line of Control has not changed. "Pakistan has been trying to push armed intruders to Indian side for the past ten years and the same attempts are still on", the Army Commander said. However, expressing concern over the alienation of youth in Jammu and Kashmir towards fundamentalism and militancy in the recent past, Lt Gen Nimbhorkar said, "this is a serious issue," and added, "onus now is upon the parents, teachers and also the state government to consciously think over the issue". On a query regarding arrest of an ex-serviceman from Rajouri as ISI agent during recently unearthed 'Espionage case', the GOC said, "Army is alert but the matter is being investigated by the Delhi Police Crime Branch. |
