SRINAGAR, Jan 11: Two fresh guests from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here today while seven Kashmiris crossed to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.
As many as 12 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said this afternoon.
They said a woman and a child arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman setu from PoK on foot to meet their relatives here. However, eight Kashmiris, who had crossed over to other side of the LoC also returned to their homes. They included two women and as many children.
Seven Kashmiris, including three women and two children, crossed to the other side of the LoC to meet their relatives, they said, adding that four people, including two women, also returned to their homes after completing stay in Kashmir.
During the winter, the number of PoK guests decreases while in summer it goes up. Similarly from Kashmir, the number goes up during winter and decreases in summer. |
