Gandhi Nagar hospital sans parking 1/11/2016 10:52:06 PM Bijay Charak Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 11: Due to Lack of parking space in Gandhi Nagar Hospital people parks their vehicle s on road side causes massive traffic jam on both sides of the hospital. The hospital is situated in posh area of the city caters hundreds of patients on daily basis lacks parking space on the premises. The situation becomes worst when people park their vehicle on both sides of roads and the entrance to the emergency. A paramedical staff pleading anonymity said that the hospital has the capacity of parking nearby 100 vehicles, which is insufficient for the hospital. Many times the hospital faculty didn't get space to park their vehicles on the premises due to which the parked their vehicle outside the hospital. They further said that the parking of the hospital always full and we people are being parked their vehicles outside the hospital, you can imagine where the patients will park their vehicles. "We people parking their vehicles outside the hospital at their own risk and sometime have to pay a fine levied by the traffic police," another staff member said. Amit Sharma, a shopkeeper residing near the hospital said that they faces hardship due to the chaos during OPD hours, as people visiting the hospital park their vehicle in front of the shop. The government should have provided sufficient space for parking at the time of constructing the new building. The hospital is being expanded in three phases, in which one OPD building has been completed and operational. Another building is under construction and the older one will be upgraded later. The administration claims that after the completion of the second building the parking problem will be solved to some extent. Medical Superintendent of Gandhi Nagar hospital accepted and said that the problem will be solved after the completion of second building.
