Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 11: Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) today flayed the Jammu University (JU) administration for adopting 'pick and choose policy' in conducting recruitments, transferring officials and effecting other policy decisions; and demanded immediate removal of Registrar Prof Keshav Sharma from the post.
Addressing a press conference, University President JYF Deepak Kumar said that University administration was promoting nepotism and favouritism on the campus by adopting pick and choose policy. "There have been instances during the past six months wherein selective interviews were conducted. Though posts were advertised for several departments but the interviews were conducted only in those departments where the Vice Chancellor or the Registrar desired," he added.
He further said that several transfers have also been affected in the University and all those were just to fit the favourites at suitable positions to get the desirable output. "The Vice Chancellor is habitual of framing Committees to get the approval of his choice. He has a set of favourite people who have nominated time again in the committees as the Vice Chancellor through them get recommendations of his choice. Thus, the VC is taking shield of committee to commit wrong-doings," he alleged.
He mentioned that the Vice Chancellor was being ably assisted in his misadventures by Registrar Prof Keshav Sharma. "The Registrar instead of giving right advice to the Vice Chancellor was misleading him and in this way ruining the institution which is unfortunate," he alleged.
