Within blame game flood victim on hither & thither since one year | | | Early Times Report
Sunderbani, Jan 11: If it is irony of blame game between SDM Office Sunderbani and SBI Branch Sunderbani or rot within system, a flood victim namely Kesho Ram resident of Saleri Hathal is being denied to get his relief compensation and is running from pillar to post to get a cheque worth Rs 1500/- encashed since one year. As per victim Kesho Ram, the local State Bank of India Brach Sundarbani is allegedly harassing him by not encashing the cheque issued aganst his name as flood compensation. Narrating his woes, flood victim told Early Times, that he had submitted the cheque issued by the HDFC bank for Rs 1500 date 5/11/14 at SBI Sunderbani on 29/01/15 for clearance surprisingly the cheque yet has not encashed. He said when he went to SBI authorities for the cheque they denied for its clearance after one year giving excuses that he should renew the cheque as its validity is expired now. Kesho Ram is hither and thither since last one year to get the cheque to be credited to his account. He said that on 9/1/2016 the bank briefly told him to get the cheque renewed as his cheque got misplaced. As the ill fate he had, when Kesho Ram went to Office of Sub District Magistrate (SDM) to get it renewed the concerns authorities too denied to renew the same as fault lies with the bank and they can't do any help to him. Kesho Ram who is suffering for his no fault, now finding now way has turned towards media to seek help in this matter so as to get SBI authorities to trace the cheque and also to clear the cheque with interest till date. He also demanded action angst those responsible for misplacing the cheque for their dereliction towards duties to restore the trust of customers. |
