| Ramban land owners demand hike in compensation | | Four lane project | | Danish Muzafar

Banihal, Jan 20 : Land and structure owners of district Ramban whose land is sought for the four lane project of national highway in district Ramban have demanded increased compensation as executing agencies are forcibly demolishing the structures in violation of court orders.
A meeting of the affected people met today and discussed the matter in detail.
The land owners said that the government gives compensation of RS 3.80 lac of per kanal of irrigated and Rs 2.20 lac of per kanal to un irrigated lands in district Ramban.
They also said that the compensation for A class structure is rupees 610 per square feet and for B class structure it is 410 rupees per sq feet which is very less and is unacceptable.
The land collector transfers 80% of the amount to the bank accounts of the land/house owners and the remaining 20% of the final award is yet to be paid to the owners.
The land owners have sought judicial intervention seeking a stay on the final award and hike in compensation.
Land owners said that court in his order on dated 01/01/2016 has directed the concerned district officers that they should present before the court on 29/01/2016 with their objections until they will stop work up to the decision of final award. The high court in his notice more said that Tehsildar Ramban is asking the land owners to get their final payment which is violation of this court order.
Maximum Land owners in district Ramban stop the executing work on four lane of different agencies and demanded the hike in rates of compensation.
Many structures were demolished by the executing agencies. However after that the objection of the land owners work has been stopped by the executing agencies. |
