Raina opposes Agenda of Alliance
Tie-up between PDP-BJP?
1/20/2016 11:52:40 PM
Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 20: It is for the time after more than 10 months that someone in the BJP has mustered courage to speak boldly against the 2015 power-sharing formula between the BJP and the PDP. He is none other than Ravinder Raina, MLA from Nowshera-Sunderbani constituency. Asking the PDP leadership to clear its stand on Government formation without any delay, he has said that BJP would not form Government by surrendering its core ideological issues and interests of Jammu people.
"The PDP-BJP Government will form the Government in the State but the PDP should clear the air immediately in the wake of the prevailing political uncertainty in the State. The BJP would not form the Government by surrendering its core ideological issues and interests of Jammu people," he has said.
In other words, Raina has opposed the party high command and disapproved the line of BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K Ram Madhav, BJP national vice president and Prabhari J&K Avinash Rai Khanna, Union Surface and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, who repeatedly reassured the PDP leadership that the BJP was prepared to give a freehand to it to implement the Agenda of Alliance.
It is obvious that Raina has taken cudgels with the party high command by saying what he said about the party's core agenda and gone to the extent of asserting that the BJP will not compromise its ideology for the sake of joining Government with the PDP.
If the past political behaviour of the BJP top guns is any indication, then Raina is likely to be shown the door like they did to Prof Hari Om, former political advisor to J&K BJP president on November 6 last year. Prof Hari Om had also said the same a number of times. He wrote many letters to the party bigwigs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and urged them to review their stand on the Agenda of Alliance, saying "it was an agenda of subversion, agenda of capitulation, another rivet in the chain of Jammu's slavery and a new charter of bondage" and urged the party leadership to direct the State unit of the BJP to play the role of an effective and responsible opposition, as the sensitive State needed an effective opposition to controvert the pernicious influence of the Kashmiri parties and Kashmiri separatists, but the party high command instead of appreciating the concerns of the party's senior leader threw him out of the party, thus sending a clear message to all in the BJP that a stringent action will be taken against those who would question the high command's changed stand on J&K and Pakistan.
It will be seen if Raina, like Prof Hari Om, is also shown the door. After all, he has committed the same sin as was committed by the former political advisor in the best interest of the party and the country.
