Jammu, Jan 20: Terming statements of politicians and Kashmiri Pandits (KP's) settled in other parts of country as attempts of selling exodus of KPs, the migrants living in Kashmir said all such people are talking in air as they lack strategy for settlement of KPs in Kashmir.
Lashing out on National Conference Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah in which he blamed KPs for not returning to their homes, President Kashmiri Pandits Sangarsh Samiti (KPSS) Sanjay Tikoo said people like Abdullah are actually selling exodus for their personal gains.
"Farooq Abdullah and people from our community as well are opportunists befooling people unnecessarily. KPs who left Kashmir sold their everything after their exodus from Kashmir, how come they will return to Kashmir and where they will live, nobody has B-plan for settlement of KPs in Kashmir. So why politics on this issue," Sanjay asked.
Tikoo said that Farooq Abdullah and many Kashmiri Pandits who are settled in other parts of the country befool people in the name of settlement of migrant KPs without having knowledge of situation at ground zero.
He said that many Kashmiri Pandits who not want to return must not create problems for KPs willing to live in Kashmir.
On Tuesday Farooq Abdullah in Delhi had said that nobody will beg Kashmiri Pandits to return.
Abdullah while speaking at the launch of a book of first hand narratives of stories of struggle by KP's living in other parts of country who yearned to return to Kashmir had said that "they have to realize that nobody is going to come with a begging bowl and say come and stay with us, they have to make the move themselves." Abdullah had said that he made efforts to help KPs to return to Kashmir but they continued to remain skeptical always. "I met them as a Chief Minister and even after that, I have gone to their homes (to request them to return.) It's not only me, but even Hurriyat leaders have come to you and told you to please come back,"Abdullah said Migrant KPs living in different parts of country also protested at Delhi on Tuesday and asked Central and state government to make suitable arrangements for their return to Kashmir. Many leaders of KP's had also made statements regarding exodus, aftermath and possible settlement of migrant KP's in Kashmir as well while addressing protestors.
Pertinently settlement issue of migrant KP's is lingering for long time as controversial statements regarding their settlement in Kashmir flourish from different corners of society every time central and state government's take any measures for their settlement in Kashmir.
