Avinash Azad Early Times Report jammu, Jan 20: Scripting history in prevailing corruption across the country, a Block Development Officer has demanded one third of the amount, as bribe from a divorced lady, provided to her by a MLC under CDS grant. Moreover, despite repeated intervention of a MLC, the erring officials have not released the funds. According to Member Legislative Council, Mohammad Muzaffar Parray, Rs 1.5 lakh were sanctioned to Assistant Commissioner Development, Baramulla for two beneficiaries under CDS grants in May 2015, but unfortunately the money was not disbursed in favour of one of the beneficiary as RDD officials have been asking her to provide them their share. "Financial assistance for two women, Rs 75,000/ for each was given through ADC, payment in favour of one beneficiary Naseema Bano has been released, while other beneficiary Hareefa Bano, who didn't have money to grease the palms of the officials is waiting for the amount", Parray alleged. He said the matter was also brought into notice of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Yasha Mudgal, but he has not paid any attention towards the complaint. "BDO Sangrama and VLW have kept the case of one Haneefa Bano daughter of Gh Nabi Parray of Paray Mohalla Haigam pending. Her case has been pending for the past nine months despite the fact it was approved at your end but BDO Sangrama and VLW are taking time to release the amount as , Haneefa could not pay Rs 25000 to them as bribe", the MLC wrote to DC Baramulla. He said that as the Haneefa, 55, a divorced woman has no money to pay the bribe, the officials are misleading higher authorities. "Four officials from BDO office, on January 3 visited, house of Haneefa's father and clicked some photographs", Parray said, adding that the woman being divorced had adopted brother's son who is residing with her in a hut, a temporary house. Parray said that the officials went there to cover up their corrupt practices. However, the MLC has also sent the photographs of Haneefa's actual, broken and dilapidated hut to Deputy Commissioner on January 4, but nothing has been done till date. |
