Mankotia submits memorandum to Governor Demands develop Udhampur as model town 1/20/2016 11:05:53 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Jan 20: Demanding develop Udhmapur as model town, former MLA and state president JKNPP submitted a memorandum to Governor NN Vohra, on Wednesday. According to press release, former MLA said that government of India has announced 500 Town/Cities to be develop as model town/cities under (AMRUT) Atal Mission for rejuvenation and urban Transformation with having basic in fracture like proper drinking water, 24 hour power supply, septage management, sewerage facilities storm water drain, urban transport, development green spaces and parks etc to enhance the amenity value of the town/cities. Mankotia further said that The peoples of Udhampur Town with high hopes were expecting that Udhampur town will also be included in the 500 proposed City/Town under central sponsored flagship programmer AMRUT but in the yesterday meeting for implementation of AMRUT headed by Chief Secretary J&K clarify that Udhampur town name does not exist priority list of said flag ship programme due to which people of Udhampur town feeling ignored in respected of development of Udhamur Town as Model Town. Mankotia added that Udhampur Town fulfill all norms required for develop as model Town under said Central sponsored Flagship programme with having more than one lakh population, Udhampur Town is army head quarter Northern Command and also third largest Town of the State after Srinagar and Jammu Situated an National high way -1A between Jammu and Srinagar.
