672 vehicles challaned, Rs 1,29 Lakh realized from traffic law violators

Banihal, Jan 20: During the recently concluded 'Road Safety Week' organized by authorities including the traffic police in Banihal of Ramban district, the traffic police challaned atleast 672 vehicles for violating traffic norms and realized fine upto Rs 1,29,200/- defaulters. Giving details DySP (Traffic) Banihal Nihar Ranjan said that during the traffic week the traffic authorities conducted a special drive against the traffic law violators and also a campaign to make people aware about the traffic laws violators.
"During this drive a total of 672 vehicles were challaned of which 610 were serve compound challans and 52 are court challans. DySP (Traffic) further said that an amount of Rs 1, 29, 200/- were realized from the violators during this long week drive. DySP was accompanied with DTI Banihal inspector Vikram Parihar and other ranks during this week long campaign conducted to create traffic laws awareness among the drivers for the safety of passengers and the pedestrians on the road.
