JAMMU, Jan 20: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has organized 6thState Level Painting Competition in Jammu and Kashmir on 20th January 2016 at Tawi River Front Park Jammu which was followed by a prize distribution function at Indian Institute of Integrated Medicines Jammu. The Theme of the Painting Competition was "Protect Ground Water and Rivers from Pollution". A total of 50 students of classes6th, 7th and 8th standard participated in the competition with First prize of Rs. 5,000/-, Second prize of Rs. 3,000/- and Third prize of Rs2,000/- to be awarded to first three toppers where as Consolation prize of Rs. 1000/- eachwereawarded to next 10 participants in the merit. The chief guest of the program was Kavinder Gupta, Speaker Legislative Assembly J&K State who distributed the prizes to the winning students. Jahanvi Choudhary Class 8thJK Public School Jammu won the first prize, Verindera Bhagat of Class 7th Heritage School Jammu won the second prize and Taniya SharmaClass 7th Army Public School Samba has won the third prize. In his speech, Kavinder Gupta highly appreciated and emphasized that Central Ground Water Board has organized the state level paining competition on above theme which has to be propagated among community for protection of water resources of J&K and such activities give boost to moral of children and their hidden talent. He also welcomed parents and guardians to motivate their children to participate in such programs and bring honor to the state. The welcome address was presented by J. N. Bhagat, Head of Office, Central Ground Water Board, North Western Himalayan Region Jammu. The function was attended by Subash Anand, Mohd. Akram Khan and Richa Gupta, Jury members. Besides all the organizers of the functioni.ethe Scientists of the Central Ground Water Board Jammunamely, A. K. Murdia, Rayees Ahmad Pir, Dhanprakash, Jitesh Tatiwal, Vinod Sharma, Priya Kanwar and Shaista Khan and parents and teachers of the students were also actively present in the function. Rayees Ahmad Pir, Scientist of the Central Ground Water Board was the overall Anchor of the function. In the end the vote of thanks was presented by Vinod Sharma, Scientist of the Central Ground Water Board. |
