GGM College organizes seminar | | | Jammu, Feb 29 : To celebrate national science day department of Zoology, GGM Science College, Jammu, organized a seminar. According to press release, National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928. National science day is celebrated as one of the main science festivals in India every year during which students of the schools and colleges demonstrate various science projects and national and state science institutions demonstrate their latest researches. The students expressed their views on how to widely spread a message about the significance of scientific applications in the daily life of the people. The deliberations concentrated around this year's theme of Science Day i.e. "Scientific Issues for Development of the Nation". Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Ajeet Angral was the chief guest while Dr. Ashok Bhagat presided over the function. Dr. Ranvijay Singh welcomed the audience and introduced about the essence of the event. A total of ten (10) students participated in the said event. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Rohini Chib and Dr. Prafulit Bambroo judged the students on the basis of the subject matter, style of speech and the confidence levels. As per the judgment of the worthy jury members, Manik Gupta, Vineet Sharma and Rumla were jointly adjudged as 1st whereas Nitin Bakshi and Rohit Krishan were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively. |
