By praising budget, Omar tries to kill two birds with one stone | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 29: Many eye-brows have been raised as former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has praised budget presented by Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley. By hailing the Union Budget, Omar Abdullah has apparently extended olive branch to the BJP, despite the fact that he had earlier ruled out forming Government with the Saffron Party. "By not focusing the benefits of #UnionBudget2016 on the #suitboot people Arun Jaitley has cleverly made the opposition's job a bit tougher," Abdullah tweeted in his first reaction to the union budget. Omar Abdullah said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has made the opposition's job a "bit tougher" with his general budget not focused on the affluent of the nation. Political analysts are of the view that by praising Union Budget, Omar Abdullah has tried to kill two birds with one stone. First by appreciating Arun Jaitley, Omar Abdullah has sought to give a message to the Union Government that unlike other opposition parties, he is not opposing NDA regime just for the sake of opposition. He knows that his praise of the budget will send a very positive message among BJP leadership at the Centre. And, secondly, Omar Abdullah has tried to further create wedge between PDP and BJP because PDP was hoping some sops in the budget, especially for J&K but nothing has been mentioned in the Budget 2016. |
