Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 29: All officers attached with the former Ministers of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led previous PDP-BJP are sent back to their respective departments after imposition of Governor's rule in the State but, the officers of the Information Department, who are attached with ex-Ministers, are still performing duties of their ex-bosses.
The Information Department is brazenly disobeying order of the Governor, N N Vohra, who has directed to send all attached officers/officials to their respective departments after imposition of the Governor's rule in the State on January 7.
Interestingly personal staff, including OSDs and PROs, of all former Ministers have rejoined their respective departments but officers of Information Department are still working with former Ministers despite the fact that nearly two months have been passed after imposition of Governor's rule in the State.
Credible sources in the corridors of power revealed that higher-ups of the Information Department have directed their Information Officers to continue with the former Ministers. Officially these Information Officers (IOs) have been sent back to the Information Department but they are unofficially still attached with the ex-Ministers. All handouts being issued by the former Ministers, after imposition of Governor's rule, are being prepared by the officers of the Information Department. Higher-ups in the Information Department want to be remained in the good books of ex-Ministers so they have unofficially attached their subordinates with these former Ministers so that in case of the formation of PDP-BJP coalition again, they would reap personal benefit in lieu providing better services to the ex-Ministers at the time of Governor's rule.
Credible sources further revealed that some officers, who are attached with ex-Ministers, have asked their bosses in the Information Department to bring them back but their requests were rejected as higher-ups in the department want to provide services to their political bosses because there is hope of formation of the coalition again.
