GDC Thannamandi Celebrates National Science Day 2/29/2016 11:26:27 PM Thanamandi, Feb 29: The Science club of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi celebrated National Science Day with full fervor and gaiety and also organized a symposium on "Uses and Abuses of Mobile Phones" at the occasion. Eight students participated in the symposium. Flower Afsana Chaand won the first position in the symposium whereas Tazeem Koser and Mohd Saleem bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Principal of the college Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function and in his presidential address appreciated the participants and spoke at length about the blessings of science and its relevance in the contemporary world. Earlier the programme started with the recitation of few verses of the Holy Quran by Rashid Hussain. Formal welcome address was presented by Prof. Junaid Jazib. Lecture Ajaz Nazir (HOD Physics) derived technical talk on the contributions of C.V.
