R S Pura, Mar 16: A protest was held in front of the SDM Office R.S. Pura under the leadership of Ch Mohan Singh, Sr Congress Leader, Suchetgarh against the norms of National Food Security Act (NFSA).
While addressing the protestors, Ch Mohan Singh said that the NFSA is nothing but a complete failure of govt scheme as it has failed to cater the needs of the priority group of this scheme.
"Earlier people were getting 35 Kg of Ration per family whereas as per new norms of NFSA each family will get 5 kg wheat per person per month, he said, adding, "the quantity of sugar too has been reduced from 750 gm to 500 gm per head. He further alleged that many deserving families have been excluded from BPL category in the recent survey held under NFSA.
After staging protest, Ch Mohan Singh along with the delegation of protesters submitted a memorandum to Governor through SDM R S Pura and demanded early redressal of demands of public.
Others who addressed the protestors included S Sobha Singh (Secy PCC), Ex Sarpanch Bachan Lal, Ch Mulkh Raj, Raju Sharma and others. |
