Influential JEs of JMC mock at transfer policy | | | Akshay Azad Early Times Report jammu, Mar 16: Trashing the norms laid in the transfer policy of the Government using their political patronage and money power, eleven Junior Engineers have been overstaying for the last more than one decade in the Jammu Municipal Corporation and are still immune to transfers. In reply to Right to Information application filed by Convener of Sangarsh RTI Movement, Balwinder Singh, the Public Information Officer as per communication number JMC/S/RTI/1296 informed that out of total 30 junior engineers eleven have been overstaying for the last nearly 11 years. These Junior Engineers (JEs) are Bal Krishan Raina who has been enjoying stay in Corporation for 11 years, that is since 25/6/2005 while SK Bhat JE (Civil) has been overstaying since 25/4/2005 (11 years). Eight engineers have been overstaying for the last nearly one decade and are Ashok Kumar Sharma (AE) overstaying since 1/4/2006, RK Koul, Tej Krishna Tangnoo (JE), Satish Malla (JE), Sanjay Raina (JE), Bishan Singh (AE), Daleep Raina (I/C JE) and Shashi Raina JE (Civil) all have been overstaying in JMC since 22/5/2006. Moreover Anoop Gupta JE has been overstaying for the last nearly eight years that is since 10/10/2008. The list furnished by JMC also included names of the JEs who were already transferred from the department but their tenure of stay in JMC also ranges from seven to 13 years. Mohammad Zubair (AE) remained posted in JMC for nearly 13 years from 27/9/2003 to 9/2/2016 besides Surinder Kumar (JE) overstayed in JMC for 13 years from 9/8/2000 to 22/10/2013. Vimal Gupta JE overstayed in JMC for nine years from 24/4/1993 to 8/6/2002 while as Surinder Pandita AE (Civil) stayed for twelve years from 7/8/2002 to 22/1/2016. Criticizing the brazen violations of transfer policy, RTI activist Balwinder Singh said that overstaying officers were also responsible for increasing corruption level in all departments. "They develop deep nexus and sabotage the working of any department. If transfer policy is there, then it should be implemented in letter and spirit for smooth functioning of Government departments", he said. |
