7th Police Martyrs Memorial (T-20) Cricket Tournament inaugurated | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Mar 16: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan today inaugurated 7th Police Martyrs Memorial (T-20) Cricket Tournament organised by District Police Kishtwar under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) launched by J&K Police at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar. As per the details available with "Early Times" about 32 Top teams of Kishtwar District are praticipating in the event. DC Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion threw open the tournament in presence of SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, Brig. Ashit Bajpaee, Commander 9 Sector RR, Col Neraj Pant CO 11 RR, P.K Langer, General Manager NHPC Kishtwar, Deewan Chand, District Sports Officer Tussif Ahmed Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar, Dy. SP oprs Irshad Ahanger , other District Officers and members of Youth Club. In his address DC Kishtwar underlined the importance of sports activities in the society added that sports help the person to develop his physique and will also help in developing mental abilities. He said that department of Youth Services and Sports has been asked to organize regular sports in different events so that the sports activities other than cricket will also get boost. Large number of people thronged the occasion to witness the inaugural function/match. The tournament is held every year to commemorate the sacrifices of Martyrs of J&K Police. The inaugural match was played between Hatta Eleven and Young star. Elected to bat first after winning the toss, Young Star scored 125 runs in allotted twenty overs. Whereas Hatta Eleven won the match by reaching the target in 16 overs by loosing 06 wickets. Sahil of Hatta Eleven scored 53 runs and was declared as Man of the Match. |
