Kathua, Mar 16: As the J&K government has ordered to have atleast 50% academic results to secure yearly increments and this order allegedly has resulted in undue support to 'mass copying' that too by the teachers backed by the principals in district Kathua just to get on safer side. Meanhile some studenst opposing the mal practice staged protest here today.
Here it needs to mention that Education department has made a policy and does not conduct the examination of students in their respective schools but the school authorities have brainchild a new modus oprandii.
Ironically, Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kathua Omita Salotra allegedly has stepped beyond to secure her increment and specifically deployed concerned subject teachers to examination centres of her students with the aim to provide answers in examination hall.
Some student appearing for 10th class being held in Government High School, Parliawand Kathua) alleged on Principal of GHSS Kathua to deploy teachers in examination centre in addition to appointed supervisors. They alleged guest teachers help students of their own school openly to some selected students while other students are harassed. Students also alleged that Sabita Sharma a PTI, Dimple Sharma, Jyoti Slathia- all teachers from GHSS Kathua have been especially deployed by principal without any order in paper. Group of students appearing in same examination centre staged protest demonstration and appealed Controller of Examination JKBOSE, to intervene the matter. They also demanded strict action against Principal GHSS Kathua who has managed teachers deployed to help the students to make good academic result.
When contacted Principal Ometa Sadotra, admitted some foul play and added that Kamlesh Sharma, Superintendent of Examination Centre, called her during examination days and demanded for concerned subject teachers to help the students of GHSS Kathua.
Balbir Singh Chief Education Officer Kathua assured to initiate inquiry and strict action against culprits in the menace.
