Modi's significant achievement from US visit
6/9/2016 11:21:21 PM
That Prime Minister,Narendra Modi's success from his latest visit to the US where he had detail;ed discussion with the US President,Barack Obama can be gauged by the way Obama has asked Pakistan to take firm action against those who had come from Pakistan to attack the Indian airbase at Pathankot. This means that Washington in general and Obama in particular have realized Pakistan's hand in the terrorist st rike. Not only this Obama has supported India’s claim for membership of Missile Tenchology Regime and its members have agreed to admit India as its member. It is the out come of Obama's support to Modi.Another gain is in the field of helping India to develop nuclear reactors. In fact Obama has assured Modi of support from the US in building six nuclear reactors.Accordingly the Nuclear Power Corporation of India and the US firm Westinghouse have decided to begin engineering and the design work for nuclear reactors, And Obama has promised India that the US will help India by exporting technology that could lead to prosperity and progress of India because the US treats India as a sincere partner in its counter terror operations.
Treating the Pathankot attack on par with 26/11, US President Barack Obama in a clear message asked Pakistan to punish the perpetrators and vowed to stand with India against terror threats emanating from Pakistan-based groups like JeM, LeT and D-company.
"They (Obama and Modi) called for Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai and 2016 Pathankot terrorist attacks to justice," a joint statement issued after the Obama-Modi meeting at the White House said.During the meeting, Modi and Obama acknowledged the continued threat posed to human civilisation by terrorism and condemned the recent terrorist incidents from Paris to Pathankot, from Brussels to Kabul, the statement said.
"They resolved to redouble their efforts, bilaterally and with other like-minded countries, to bring to justice the perpetrators of terrorism anywhere in the world and the infrastructure that supports them," the statement said.During the meeting, Obama and Modi committed to strengthen cooperation against terrorist threats from extremist groups, such as "al-Qaeda, Jaish-e Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, D Company and their affiliates..
Even after these achievements India and the US are ready to collaborate for promoting peace in the world and for freeing world from the menace of terrorism. The two leaders directed their officials to identify specific new areas of collaboration at the next meeting of the US-India Counter-terrorism Joint Working Group, the statement said.
"Recognising an important milestone in the US-India counter-terrorism partnership, the leaders applauded the finalisation of an arrangement to facilitate the sharing of terrorist screening information," it said. This indicates that the two sides have decided to work in cooperation and in collaboration for ending the menace of terror. Since the US considers India as its sincere and trustworthy friend Washington will move a mile or two in helping India to fight poverty, terror and energy crisis and at the same time help India to meet any threat from its main enemies,Pakistan and China by assisting Indian engineers and companies in building sophisticated war machinery.
