Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 9: Some senior PDP leaders visited homes of two separatist leaders to mourn death of their relatives.
Days after the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti condemned separatists over the issue of Sainik and Pandit colonies from the floor of house, senior leadership of her party today visited the homes of two separatist leaders to mourn death of their relatives.
Sources said that a delegation of PDP visited the residences of two families including senior Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Prof Abdul Gani Bhat to mourn the deaths of father of Nayeem Khan and brother of Abdul Gani Bhat who had passed away on Wednesday.
The delegation according to sources comprising PDP senior general secretary Nizamuddin Bhat, MLC Saif-ud-din Bhat, Irshad Ahmad Kar, Abdul Hamid Kosheen, Imtiyaz Shan and Javaid Ahmad Dar had back to back secret meetings with separatist at their residences.
Sources said that sensing trouble after issuing statements contradicting statements of separatists over establishing Sainik and Pandit colonies, PDP leadership was looking for an excuse to gain confidence of separatist camps.
With the death of close relatives of two senior leaders of separatist, PDP according to sources jumped to mend relationship with separatist camps to maintain ages old cordial relationship with them.
Many leaders had even expressed their resentment and warned party high command over confronting with separatist leaders," sources said.
For the first time Mehbooba Mufti had talked in tough language against separatist leaders and militants from the floor of house; however according to sources it had now went well within the party corridors.
It was after PDP's tough stand that BJP leadership had demanded to book separatists in Kashmir in anti national cases registered against them and withdraw their security.
Sources said that BJP leadership had expressed pleasure after government had initiated a tough stand against separatist leaders and detained most of them in their homes.
However, PDP leadership known for having close ties with separatist leaders than any other mainstream political party of state according to sources had no option but to deceive BJP to maintain their good ties within separatist camps.
State BJP leadership according to sources is not well aware of state politics and nature of politicians based in Kashmir as most of them are new in state politics.
They sources said believe everything that is being send to press for publication and are deceived by PDP in a tricky manner over handling of separatist leaders.
