jammu, Jun 9:In the latest development in Nagbani school sexual harassment row, police have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a probe into the alleged incident. The SIT, led by SDPO, Domana, has a Senior Prosecuting Officer, SHO, Domana police station, and two Sub Inspectors (SIs) as its members. Earlier, the alleged accused principal of the school namely Alok Betab had filed a plea before the high court for quashment of the case, claiming therein that he was wrongly framed by the lady teacher, but the court had rejected his plea. The school principal had allegedly abused his subordinate following which a complaint was lodged with the Domana police by the victim lady teacher. In her complaint, she had alleged that the school principal had abused her sexually at work place. She also alleged that he had also forwarded objectionable SMSs to her. Following the complaint police had booked the accused principal under sections 506 and 509 RPC . She had also lodged a complaint with the Women Commission which in turn had directed school authorities to transfer him from the school. She alleged that the principal in order to strengthen his position in the school had engaged his seven relatives as teachers. He was also alleged to have employed his wife as a teacher in the school. |
