Early Times Report
Jammu, June 9: Even as some shopkeepers last evening caught hold an alleged bike lifter red handed and handed over him to police, SHO was reluctant to lodge FIR against the accused. Sources in the police department alleged that the the SHO did not want to drag himself in any kind of trouble, especially after knowing the history of the youth who was a drug addict. He was now trying to shift the youth to Gujjar Nagar police post for further investigation. The excuse for shifting the alleged accused to Gujjar Nagar police post was that earlier also a motorcycle theft case was lodged at Gujjar Nagar police post by the same complainant who along with other shopkeepers had caught hold the accused red handed. Sources claimed that thieves had four times targeted their house and stolen a Fazer motorcycle, LPG cylinder, water pump, some valuables and cash. Sources said while shopkeepers had caught hold of the accused while he was trying to steal the motorcycle, police were doing nothing. |
