SVO books naib-tehsildar, patwari in alleged fraud case | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 9: The state vigilance organisation (SVO) has booked a naib-tehsildar and a patwari for 'fraudulently' and 'dishonestly' giving possession of a state land to a man at Chowadi here in 2010. SVO investigation revealed that then naib-tehsildar, Bahu, Rampaul and patwari halqa Chowadi, Shabir Ahmad, after allegedly entering into a criminal conspiracy with one Rashpaul Singh, son of Tej Ram of Chowadi, fraudulently and dishonestly recorded and attested mutation No 2737/Jeem of Chowadhi on March 15, 2010 for land measuring 560.8 sft falling under khasra No 100 of Chowadi. The mutation was done in favour of Rashpaul by the two revenue officials even as they knew that he actually had physical possession of state land falling under khsara No 96 of Chowadhi. By acting in this manner, the revenue officials, by abuse of their officials position and in active connivance with each other and the beneficiary, conferred undue benefit upon the beneficiary, causing loss to the state exchequer. The SVO has booked the accused under section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) of P C Act Svt 2006 and sections 120-B, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of RPC. |
