Early Times Report JAMMU, June 9: A DIG, who was unhappy with PHQ over his 'unimportant' posting, has proceeded on central deputation, initially for five years. Gareeb Dass, who was earlier posted as DIG in a Kashmir range, was some time back transferred to PHQ even as he had been assured a good posting in Jammu region. He was not given a good posting in Jammu region despite repeated assurances by PHQ, police sources said. "His name for promotion to the next rank of IGP also stands cleared, but he knew he would not be given a significant posting even after becoming IGP, so he applied for central deputation," sources informed. "He has now got a posting at the Centre with MHA sending him to railways as director vigilance (police), railway board. The PHQ has been asked to relieve him at the earliest," sources said. Gareeb Dass has served the police department in different capacities. |
