Srinagar, June 9: All the people, providing service during the annual Amarnath pilgrimage, commencing from July 2 from traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal routes, will be registered and provided identity cards. This information was given today during a meeting chaired by Labour Commissioner. Vipra Bhal called to review the arrangements to be made by Labour Department for the Yatra . Addressing the meeting, the Labour Commissioner enjoined upon the concerned officers to ensure hassle- free registration of the service providers as per the guidelines and norms, saying that they should not face any inconvenience on part of department. Threadbare discussion was held on various issues, including registration of service providers including Pithoowalla, Ponywalla and Dandiwallas during the Yatra, verification of them from concerned police stations, issuance of laminated I-Cards to avoid any tempering and digitations of registration work to maintain proper record of them. The meeting was informed that the registration process of the service providers has been started from May 1 , 2016 at the District headquarters of Ganderbal and Anantnag district. From June 1 onwards, the registration process is going on at Sonamarg in district Ganderbal and at Pahalgam in Anantnag District, the meeting was informed and added that the Labour Department has devised a proforma for the registration of service providers which has to be completed by the service provider. The meeting was informed that after proper verification of the service providers from the concerned police station, the department would issue laminated I-cards to avoid any tempering. The department has also taken up the digitisation of registration work to maintain proper record to ensure that the task is completed without duplication. The field functionaries assured the Labour Commissioner that they will provide prompt and hassle free registration and other services to the intending service providers as per the guidelines and norms. |
