Third accused of 'Bikram Chowk shootout' nabbed

Jammu, June 9: Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have made a breakthrough in much hyped 'Bikram Chowk shootout' with the arrest of the third accused involved in infamous incident which took place in the month of September last year. "The accused identified as Amit Saini was absconding after the incident, police sources said, adding,"the police today managed his arrest from his hideout. Police sources who preferred to just share the arrest of third accused of infamous shootout case said the more information will be shared on appropriate time as further revelations will hamper the investigations of case. Pertinent to mention that other two accused who have been arrested by police had been identified as Supreet Singh alias Raja s/o Devinder Singh of Dalpattian Mohalla and Babbar Khan alias Babbar s/o Ghulam Nabi of Bhawani Nagar Talab Tillo.
"Police have recovered a country made pistol and also have seized the motorcycle used for the crime, sources said, adding, "trio was involved in a shootout at Bikram Chowk in which the brother of an under trial in murder case had sustained bullet injuries. On August 20, 2015, firing incident took place at Bikram Chowk in which a person namely Ranjeet Singh s/o Dayal Singh of Satwari received bullet injury on his left leg. Accordingly a case under FIR No 210/2015 u/s 307, 341/34 of RPC and 3/25 Arms Act stands registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station which started further investigations.
