BJP exhibits lack of spine acting as junior partner: Harsh
6/9/2016 11:44:44 PM
Early Times Report

Udhampur, June 9: Lambasting the BJP for taking one somersault after the other over Jammu related issues as well as its own solemn pledges, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister today said that the Saffron Party had fully revealed its true colours within a short period of 18 months. He said that the saffron leaders who, while in opposition, groaned on trivial issues with staff resistance to PDP's philosophy had taken one u-turn after the other in quick succession only to play the role of a Junior Partner in PDP led Govt. He was addressing huge public meetings in village Sulan, Prey and Badhal of Ramnagar constituency.
Addressing huge gatherings, Harsh Dev Singh expressed grave concern over Mehbooba Mufti's statement in Assembly declining separate townships for migrant KPs, Sainik colonies as also her refusal to give 5 marla plots to Border dwellers and the criminal acquiescence of the BJP leaders who though present in the Assembly refused to agitate.
Flaying the BJP for its criminal silence over the repeated announcements of the govt. to shelve the Sainik Colony project in Kashmir under the pressure of Huriyat and separatists, Singh described the step as highly reprehensible and retrograde which could have adverse impact upon the morales of the Armed Forces.
Further Harsh Dev observed that the govt by its decision of abandoning Sainik colony project was not only discrediting itself but doing the greatest disservice to the soldiers who risked their lives to defend our borders, fought militancy and terrorism within the country, assisted in natural calamities, countered Assembly and Parliament Attacks and even rescued people from bore wells when local administration had totally failed to deal with the internal crisis. Flaying the political opportunism of the Jammu mandated leaders, Singh said that BJP must understand that its argument to co-operate with the PDP in administration will have to be co-exist with its need to confront its ally on fundamentals. He said that refusal to hoist the Tricolour in NIT Srinagar and restraining the JKNPP leaders' Tiranga rally provided other glaring instances of sell out by the BJP on its professed promises and other signature slogans.
Lampooning the BJP for exhibiting lack of spine its acquiescence to the Kashmir centric and separatist ideology, Singh cautioned it to refrain from its suicidal surrenders which could cost it its postal address in the days to come.
On the local issues of the Ramnagar constituency, Harsh Dev regretted that the developmental activities had come to a grinding halt with worst condition of existing roads coupled with acute water, power and Ration cases in varians villages. He further expressed concern over the failure of the PMGSY Deptt. to start black topping of Ramnagar-Katwalat road, Sulan-kela road for which Rs. 454 lacs and Rs. 198 lacs respectively had been approved under Phase VIII of PMGSY during 2012-13. Pt Shiv Ram Sharma, Pavan Dev Singh, Hans Raj Sarpanch, Roshan Lal, Vijay Sharma, Pushpinder, Sunil Sharma and others were also present in this public meeting.
