SRINAGAR, July 29: Opposition PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, alongwith 20-odd MLAs and MLCs of her organization, today locked the main entrance of Civil Secretariat. She said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his Ministers and bureaucrats required to be taught what the residents of Srinagar and some other towns had been feeling during weeks of endless curfew. Calling for an end to prohibitory orders, curfew, detention of people under the label of stone pelters, harassment to separatist activists and ‘killing’ of youth by Police and security forces, Mehbooba asserted that NC-led coalition government had lost credibility as well as moral right to continue in office.
Members of PDP’s Legislature Party reached Civil Secretariat entrance individually from 1215 hours to 1245 hours. Bunker collapses near LoC; jawan killed, another hurt | | |

JAMMU, July 29: An army bunker gave way to heavy rains on the Line of Control (LoC) at Bruti in Balakote area of Poonch Wednesday, resulting in the death of a BSF jawan and injuries to another.
Official sources said the bunker collapsed due to heavy rains near the LoC at Bruti as a result of which Head Constable Narpath Singh of 76 Bn of BSF was killed.
Another jawan, whom sources identified as Santo Dass, was injured and hospitalised.
Meanwhile, two houses collapsed due to incessant rains in Bafliaz area of Poonch. However, there was no loss of life, or injury to anyone in the incident.A mud house collapsed in Warwan area of Kishtwar district, the sources added.

JAMMU, July 29: A drunkard caused damage to a roadside Shiva temple at Moralian near Miran Sahib, about 15 km from here, in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
Identified as Somesh Sharma alias Pinta, son of Prabhatu Ram Sharma, the accused hails from Miran Sahib.Miran Sahib police station SHO, Inspector Sunil Jasrotia said Pinta, who was evading arrest, had been booked for causing damage to temple and hurting religious sentiments of the people under section 295 of RPC.
